The renovation of this New Canaan home began with the primary suite, where the homeowners wanted a fresh approach to classic New England style. The goal was to create a bedroom and bath that felt equally comfortable for both husband and wife—polished and timeless, but never overly masculine or feminine.

A crisp palette of blue and green became the foundation for the design, layered with classic patterns, tailored furnishings and natural textures. New hardwood floors brought warmth and continuity to the bedroom, while carefully selected fabrics and finishes give the space its relaxed, preppy character.

Blue and green are used throughout the bedroom in varying shades and patterns, creating a space that feels layered without becoming busy. Traditional furnishings and tailored textiles give the room a sense of permanence, while the lighter palette keeps it fresh and inviting.

The adjoining bath continues the restrained palette and classic sensibility of the bedroom. Clean-lined finishes and timeless materials create a bright, uncomplicated space designed to feel as relevant years from now as it does today.
